Everyone Has a Role
You Don't Have to Be on Stage to Be Part of Theatre
A successful production requires much more than performers. Volunteers help create costumes, build sets, run lights and sound, assist backstage, welcome audiences, and support the many details that bring a show together.
Some volunteers contribute a few hours during a production, while others become involved throughout the year. Whatever your schedule or experience level, we appreciate your willingness to help.
Ways to Volunteer
Find Your Place at FDLCT
There are many ways to be part of Fond du Lac Community Theatre. Every production depends on a team of people working together, and you do not need previous theatre experience to make a difference.
Whether you enjoy creating, organizing, working with people, or learning something new, there is an opportunity for you.
Production Support
Help bring each production from the first rehearsal to opening night. Production volunteers assist with many behind-the-scenes areas, including:
• Set construction and painting
• Props and scenery
• Costumes and wardrobe support
• Makeup and hair
• Backstage assistance
• Rehearsal and production support
Technical Theatre
Theatre relies on many people working behind the scenes to create the experience audiences enjoy. Technical volunteers may help with:
• Lighting
• Sound
• Video and photography
• Stage crew
• Special effects
• Technical operations during performances
No technical experience is required. Many volunteers learn new skills by working alongside experienced members of the theatre community.
Audience and Event Support
Help create a welcoming experience for everyone who attends a performance. Volunteers can assist with:
• Greeting guests
• Ticketing and check-in
• Ushering
• Concessions
• Special events
Organizational Support
Fond du Lac Community Theatre also depends on volunteers who help throughout the year. Opportunities may include:
